Skipjack, Sails Down, with Stand

Skipjack, Sails Down, with Stand

Description:  A Skipjack is a sturdy, wooden, single-masted, oyster dredging sailboat, with an aft cabin and a push boat (also called a yawl boat). Most real Skipjacks are 40’ to 50’ in length and ideally suited for the relatively shallow and often choppy waters of the Chesapeake. Our highly detailed model is a more manageable 24.50" in length with her most notable feature being furled sails (sails down) to allow complete viewing of the rigging. Model is wooden construction, hand-built, fully assembled, with great attention to detail.

Features:  Two furled sails (mainsail and jib), blocks and rigging, wooden mast hoops, bowsprit and decorative trailboards, anchor windlass, two anchors with chain, dredge winder, dredge rollers, water barrel, captain’s wheel, aft cabin, deck houses, centerboard, rudder and push boat on black davits. Model displays on a sturdy black stand (does not include display case). Model is removable from stand.

Dimensions:  Skipjack on stand is 24.50" long X 6" wide X 22" high, weight 4 lbs. Special shipping carton is 29" long X 14" wide X 29" high, weight 24 lbs. total.
